Wedding Color Palettes: Cool Tones to Beat the Summer Heat

Summer weddings always have a uniquely fresh, sun-kissed flavor, often lending themselves beautifully to cooler, natural tones. These breezy wedding color palettes reflect the romantic character of our summer couples. They can be found on the rolling grounds of Pavilion at Carriage Farm, stealing quiet moments together under the shade of an old oak tree, where time stands still and the world smells of roses and new beginnings.

Here are a few of our favorite peaceful palettes, including a glimpse from Michelle + Travis’s (married August 28, 2021) sentimental celebration in shimmering shades of mauve, neutral greens and greys.

Moss & Champagne

Gentle hues of mossy green pair perfectly with subtle (yet bubbly) champagne tones creating harmony and balance. Use fairy garden-inspired floral elements, organic succulent centerpieces or woodland touches, tucking mossy greens in between tea lights holders. Right now, we are LOVING the look of bountiful eucalyptus bouquets and soft, celebratory bridesmaids dresses in feminine shades of blush and champagne. This combination feels especially southern-chic and very romantic!

Bonus: Layering varying types of greenery can often be a hidden spot for savings in your floral budget while helping achieve an abundant, garden-fresh look!

Sea Glass & Sand

Low-saturated and light colored, pale aquas and blues feel classic yet carefree, like the endless summer sky.  Cool combinations of sparkly blue hues and delicate grey-greens are a lovely nod to the sea and the nostalgia of slow summer days. Reminiscent of walks on the sand, a serene ocean palette balances nicely with textures of tumbled glass and watercolor invitations.  Add a modern twist to this understated combo by playing up the role of romantic fabrics in soft foamy-beige, the result, elegant with just the right about of laid back.

Shades of Mauve & Grey

Pretty purples in wispy tones of mauve and wisteria, feel luxe when paired with contemporary shades of dazzling greys.  We were smitten with the effortless, unforgettable style of Michelle and Travis’s summer wedding.  The pergola, surrounded by the shady green foliage of magnolia and whispering weeping willow, provided a serene setting for their ceremony. Travis, along with much of their bridal party, proudly serve in the U.S. Army and up until just days before the ceremony, were still unsure of a possible deployment.  The anticipation only added to the powerful undercurrent of emotion in their ceremony.  The magical rays of sunlight in the stunning fields surrounding the Pavilion at Carriage Farm undeniably wrapped this couple in warmth and love. The stunning With touches of pastels in their florals, romantic tablespaces glowing with candlelight, the grand stone fireplace served as the perfect reception backdrop for their elegant affair. The details were truly divine!

Use Cool Tones to Capture the Magic of Summer

Picture it, summertime stars shining brightly and fireflies dancing to the sound of music spilling out of the barn under the twinkling lights on the patio. Compliment the magic of season with cooler colors in wedding color palettes. Maybe even a few refreshing popsicles to end the night.  Pure wedding bliss!
