It Started with a Plan…

Have you ever heard that saying “If you want to make God laugh, tell him you have a plan”? Hi, we’re Kirk and Marti Leone, owners of The Pavilion at Carriage Farm. When we bought these beautiful, rolling acres of land south of downtown Raleigh, NC in 2001, we had a grand plan of developing it for real estate. What we didn’t know was that God had other ideas.

In our early years as husband and wife, we worked side-by-side, Kirk as a custom home builder/developer and Marti as a real estate agent. When we purchased the land, we had the vision of creating a neighborhood. Instead, we fell in love with the wooded scenery, numerous ponds and rolling fields. We built our dream home and began to raise our family. To utilize the land and harness Marti’s love of horses, we erected a barn and began boarding horses. …and turned into a Dream

On Sept. 20, 2014, we held our very first wedding at Carriage Farm. Our yard, with a beautifully crafted pergola and expansive open area, served as ceremony and reception space. As more and more brides flocked to our gorgeous wedding venue, we knew it was time to take the leap. In 2017, we built and opened the doors to The Pavilion at Carriage Farm. Since that day, dozens of couples began their love story too, in this very space.

Marti was born and raised in Raleigh, NC and practiced real estate from 1989 to 2001. She and her husband, Kirk have been married since 1992 and have 2 children. In 2001, they purchased the land that would become The Pavilion at Carriage Farm. Following trials and tribulations, the Leones held their first wedding in September 2014. The dream grew from there.

As Venue Director, Marti is an intricate part of your wedding planning process. From the moment you step through the doors at your private tour until you drive off into the sunset following your “I Do’s,” Marti and her team will be by your side.

In her spare time, Marti enjoys spending time horseback riding, gardening, or vacationing with her family at the beach!

Venue Manager & Lead Planner

Alyson started her career in event management in Raleigh, NC after graduating from NC State University. She quickly fell in love with the wedding industry after having the opportunity to help plan some of her friends’ weddings! Alyson joined the Pavilion team as a Venue Manager shortly after the venue opened in 2017 and has since expanded into the role of Lead Planner. In the Fall of 2018, Alyson took a leap of faith and started her own Wedding Planning business, Alyson Jean Events! We are thrilled to continue to have her as part of our team.

In her spare time, you can find Alyson spending time with her husband and their four fur-babies, hanging out at local coffee shops, boating, skiing or hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains with family!

Originally from NJ, Dee began her post-college career at the United Nations working in NYC and the former Yugoslavia. After several years she changed gears and joined the International Rescue Committee as an event planner, where her love of events began. She took some time off to raise her 3 daughters and moved to England with her family. Upon their return to the US they decided to give Cary, NC a try and have grown to really love it here. Dee returned to work planning high-tech/real estate conferences. She finally found her way to weddings where she’s been for the last several years and where she hopes to stay (at least until her girls decide to get married)! 

In her spare time, Dee loves to travel, paint, play tennis and pickleball, and visit her daughters whenever she can.
